The Chancery Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey in Essex County issued an order granting a student dismissed from the New Jersey Dental School (NJDS) of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) an audience before the Student Academic Performance Committee because the University had failed to comply with its rules and regulations when it dismissed the student previously without providing him an opportunity to present a case to that Committee.  See Omar Mercado v.
